An
entire world of its own, it always has been
Disneyland. Through the years, it remains
to be the Happiest Place on Earth. The ambitious
realm, located in Anaheim, California is one
of the most visited sites in the world. It
has also successfully impressed itself unto
cultural consciousness across the nations.
Main Street, U.S.A. takes visitors to the
threshold of early 20th century, small-town
America old-fashioned antiquated shops, the
City Hall and the Cinema. Other faithful renditions
include horse-drawn trolleys and the electric
lights side by side with gas street lamp
Adventureland is an
exotic land with dramatic settings of alien
locales like jungles and bazaars. In just
a stroll, guests already traversed Africa,
Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Polynesia.
The last frontiers of the Wild West is depicted
in Frontierland. Visit the
dance hall, shooting gallery, fort, rustic
buildings, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad,
Tom Sawyer's Island, and
the Mark Twain Riverboat.
Creole culture is alive and kicking in New
and Orleans Square. Many of the distinctive
architectural features of the French Quarter
are intact. The live entertainment is even
provided with that unmistakable New Orleans
flair. The Square is the abode of two of Disneyland's
signature attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean
and the Haunted Mansion, as is the Blue Bayou
restaurant.
Designated first as Bear Country, Critter
County is aptly enough a Northeastern territory,
a chosen address of rustic buildings and tree-shaded
areas. It is located beyond New Orleans
Square. The area hosts Splash Mountain
and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Fantasyland, runneth
over as the happiest kingdom of them all.
The place breeds as a land of enchantment
and make-believe as evident in Disney gems
like Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow
White, Alice in Wonderland, or Pinocchio.
Mickey and the gang are here in Mickey's Toontown.
This whimsical place has brightly colored
buildings, intricate details and surprises
that will catch one off-guard. Found also
here are attractions including Roger Rabbit's
Car Toon Spin, Gadget's Go-Coaster,
Chip 'n' Dale's Treehouse,
and Donald's Boat.
In Tomorrowland, future vision blurs
reality. Visitors can take a space shuttle
to Endor, defend the galaxy from the evil
Emperor Zurg at Buzz
Lightyear Astro Blasters, or ride
to the fringes of the universe at Space Mountain.
