Disney
takes the fun of shopping, dining and entertainment
out into the open, into the promenades of
a garden. This is all realized and exceeded
in a place called Downtown Disney, an outdoor
shopping, dining, and entertainment area at
the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
It is situated in the break between Disney's
California Adventure and Disneyland Park on
the western side of the resort, due west to
Disneyland Hotel. Guests can enter the area
without admission tickets. Disneylands Monorail
transportation services connect to the area.
When the day is done, Downtown Disney District
pulsates with nocturnal activities. Day and
night in all, the district is the throbbing
core of behemoth concentrations of humanity,
short of a city in itself.
Snuggled in the district, World of Disney
is a superstore concentrated with a revering
selection of all things Disney. It is a sheer
mother lode of Disney toys, apparel, souvenirs
and collectibles among others.
Else, Downtown Disney is the location of retail
outlets like the following: Anne Geddes,
Basin, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Compas
bookstore, Club Libby Lu, Department 56, Disney's
Pin Traders, Hoypoloi, Illuminations,
Island Charters, Marceline's Confectionery,
QuikSilver, Sephora,
Something Silver, Starabilias,
and The LEGO Imagination Center.
There is overflowing entertainment. For one,
the genius of its AMC Theatres is nothing
short of magnificent screening palaces. The
theater offers loveseat-style leatherette
stadium seating and THX Surround Sound and
Sony Dynamic Digital Sound. Apart from the
state-of-the-art technology utilized, the
theater’s architecture is a nostalgic
setting to be, reminiscent of 1920’s
Art Deco moviehouses. Needless
to say, AMC Theatres screens today's newest
releases.
Meanwhile, the House of Blues Stage is often
the preferred podium of choice for some of
the best names in live music. In the same
way, the stage is breeding grounds for promising
acts representing every genre.
Dining is never wanting. For fresh, all-natural
energizing smoothies and juices, hordes of
bodies get their fix from the districts well-knownJamba
Juice joint.
Tortilla Jo's on the other hand regularly
throws a fiesta, when it comes to dishing
out the signature cuisine of Mexico. Otherwise,
diners are transported to a festive atmosphere
recalling Mexican revelry, particularly at
late-night gatherings at their open-air cantina.
